The art is absolutely amazing, this is what Reignited should have looked like, Crash 4 has the same art style with way better compositions + color + variety + more variety in texture (even if it’s usually just implied texture that’s not the point) + asset use + actual secondary and tertiary details, it’s thick and consistent as hell (so where Reignited looks cheap to me. I’m even going to go so far as to say that I think the triple spin is great, although I understand the physical tiredness, relics always had that effect on me anyway and I think triple spin adds a layer of rhythm to inputs (which actually reminds me of CTR). The control is super great, perhaps a tad finicky but with tons of room to experiment and much more condusive to level design than the powerups in 3 (which were powerful and felt cool to use but ended up kinda one-note and often leave you just skipping by a lot, the spacing of movement and platforms in 4 feels a lot tighter without being too railroaded, there’s a super high skill ceiling here). Level design is god-tier when BS isn’t ruining segments (and completion requirements), some of the absolute best Crash levels ever imo even surpassing ND’s designs. I’ve told friends and other sites about my opinion far more in-depth but I’ll try to summarise what I like and dislike. It’s basically a 9/10 game lowered to an 8/10 because of how bad certain BS and completion requirements are imo.
